Kids Together Playground: Inclusive Playgrounds Part Two

This is part two of my inclusive playgrounds posts. I will highlight a few of my favorite projects. These sites peaked my interest as inclusive and incorporating lots of nature elements. They had elements or imagery that really seemed to click for the design work I do. Most of them elegantly (in least some part) address the question of how to connect kids with nature in an inclusive way.

If you missed the first inclusive post you can see it here.

Kids Together Playground  – Cary NC

This playground is 10 years old! Build to be inclusive and not make accessibility feel like an add onto a playground. While it includes a lot of traditional playground equipment it is set in a forested setting and include more natural elements. It was built using the 7 principles of Universal Design. You can read more about the park here. I will highlight more about the 7 principles in my next post.
